What Is A Cooperative?
What Is A Cooperative?

Cooperatives are one of the possible legal forms of self-managed collectives. They are businesses and organisations equally owned and controlled by a group of people. What’s special about cooperatives is that they are truly democratic because each member has one vote.

Cooperatives impact positively and sustainably on the communities in which they are rooted. Why? Their members, in the case of Humana Nova the workers, have a natural interest in securing their jobs and keeping their region worth living in. Other than merely profit-driven corporations, cooperatives invest their surplus where it’s been created, on the ground in the local communities!
