We, Doreen Zelmer and Anton Wundrak, are two longstanding friends from Berlin who know each other already from school. The idea for dna merch occurred to us in the end of 2013. Anton had been involved in various projects which all were somewhat linked to the same questions: Where and under which conditions are the things that we buy produced?

As a music fan and drummer, Anton regularly goes to concerts. When he started to be more curious about the exact origin of the t-shirts sold there, it struck him how little to no information was available at the merch stalls. Interestingly, this was also true for those shirts that were praised as fair and ecological. We thought: it must be possible to do this more transparently. And so the idea to build an alternative t-shirt company was born.
