The March 2025 design is dedicated to the communist partisan heroine Nada Dimić, born in 1923 in the small village of Divoselo in what is now Croatia. Nada Dimić was the only Croatian Serb member of the country's first anti-fascist unit in Sisak. Dimić carried out raids and acts of sabotage on railways and was arrested and tortured by the Ustaše (Croatian fascists). In prison, she attempted suicide but was unsuccessful. After comrades helped her escape, she joined the fight against the fascists again. Eventually, Dimić was arrested another time, this time by Italian troops, and handed over to the Ustaše. Despite being tortured again, she refused to reveal any information. A few months later, she was executed on March 17, 1942. In 1951, Nada Dimić was declared a national heroine of Yugoslavia.

We are very happy that Zagreb-based street artist Vedran Štimac joined the project again and delivered this great illustration. Vedran has the following to say about his work:

“The illustration features a portrait of Nada Dimić. In the foreground, we see two women—one is a worker, and the other is a partisan. The worker is holding a rifle, while the partisan holds a thread. This symbolizes the shifting of roles, merging the struggle from the battlefield to the workers’ movement. The thread represents the textile factory named after her after her death. The text "Nada koja ne umire" is a wordplay. In English, it translates to "Hope Which Never Dies", as the word or name Nada means Hope in Croatian.”
